Explore the scenic archipelago of Southern Norway on a cultural boat tour rich in maritime history, local storytelling, and beautiful coastal sights. Travel in style aboard the historic vessel MB Høllen.

Tuesdays and Sundays – Full-Day Tour to Ny-Hellesund

Set out on a memorable sea voyage from Kristiansand to the charming island village of Ny-Hellesund. Along the route, enjoy breathtaking views and captivating stories of coastal heritage. From the water, get a rare glimpse of Bredalsholmen Dock and Ship Preservation Centre – one of Norway’s three national hubs for historic ship restoration. The centre specializes in steel ship preservation using traditional riveting techniques from before the age of welding.

The journey continues past the historic coastal site of Romsviga, through the Søgne archipelago, and past Olav Sundet and the historic shipyard at Ny-Hellesund. A short stop at Høllen offers the opportunity to disembark or join the boat – ideal for those attending Tuesday concerts at Fiskebrygga or visiting the iconic Kunstsilo art museum.

Thursdays – 3-Hour Boat Tour in Kristiansand’s Archipelago (Morning & Afternoon)

On Thursdays, two scenic sailings offer an unforgettable trip through some of Southern Norway’s most picturesque waters. Departing from Kai 6, the journey passes Odderøya and into Topdalsfjord toward Marvika, where stories of naval history unfold. The boat sails through narrow straits and open fjords, heading toward Randesund’s idyllic islets.

A highlight is Skippergata, the narrow canal separating eastern and western Randøya. The boat then passes Vogts Villa on Dvergsøya and stops at Bredalsholmen for a chance to visit the dockside café and learn about ship conservation. The trip ends at Bragdøya, a recreational island with rich cultural landscapes, a coastal culture centre, and a popular summer café. On the morning tour, passengers can stay on the island and return with a later boat.
