Visit a working husky farm in Sirdal and try dog sledding on a scenic course surrounded by Norwegian nature.
Spend three hours at the Sirdal Huskyfarm learning about dog sledding and meeting the farm’s huskies. You’ll start the experience by getting to know the dogs and understanding how they are cared for throughout the seasons.
The guide will introduce the equipment and demonstrate how to drive a sled. Depending on the time of year, you’ll either use a sled on snow or wheels on dry ground. Each participant gets a chance to drive a husky team along a 400-meter closed track.
After the sledding session, enjoy a simple meal and warm drink in the farm’s stone cellar. A short slideshow will round off the visit, sharing stories about the local area and life with sled dogs in Sirdal.
The activity is suitable for adults and children, but all participants must be able to control the sled independently. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The tour runs year-round, with sleds or wheeled carts depending on weather conditions. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Inform the provider of any allergies when booking. A minimum of two participants is required.
