This bike ride is perfect for those who want to combine physical activity, nature experiences, and world-class geology! The route goes from north to south in Brønnøy through a varied landscape with natural and man-made experiences. The trip emphasizes the local geology, which is so special that it has given the area UNESCO status.
Brønnøy is located in the heart of the Trollfjell UNESCO Global Geopark, which is actually the northernmost geopark in the world! The geopark consists of six municipalities, including Brønnøy, and is a region with spectacular nature that tells fascinating stories about the landscape and the people who have lived here since the last Ice Age.
From the bike seat, you get close to nature and get to know the geopark at your own pace. The route is rich in content and takes you past small and large attractions, hidden gems, viewpoints, and hiking areas. The highlight is the mountain Torghatten, which towers in the south – a geological monument to the powerful forces of nature over millions of years.
The bike route stretches 28 kilometers from the ferry terminal Horn in the north to Torghatten in the south. Customize the trip according to your own needs and desires, and remember to set aside time for detours, exploration, and good culinary experiences.
If you’re not bringing your own bike, you can rent an e-bike or a hybrid bike at Visit Helgeland’s Tourist Information Office in Sømnaveien 92.
