Experience an authentic Arctic adventure on the frozen fjord outside Kirkenes. Join a local fisherman to catch, prepare, and enjoy the legendary red king crab in traditional northern Norwegian style.
Start your evening with hotel pickup and a short drive to the Snow Resort Kirkenes camp. Here, your guide helps you gear up in warm clothing and provides a safety briefing before setting off on a sled behind the snowmobile. Glide over the icy fjord to reach the crab traps set beneath the frozen surface. Together with your guide, pull up the heavy cages and get close to the impressive red king crab.
Back at the Snow Resort Kirkenes, learn how the freshly caught crabs are prepared and cooked. While the meal is being made, enjoy a warm drink and take in the Arctic landscape around you. Then, sit down to a fresh king crab feast served with bread, butter, mayonnaise, and lemon. Drinks such as wine or beer are available to order at the table.
After your meal, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Kirkenes — ending the evening with a taste of Arctic life you’ll remember.
