Elgsnes Boathouse – Gathering Space by the Sea

By the edge of the sea at Elgsnes, approximately 30 minutes from Harstad, stands the boathouse — a simple and robust coastal structure shaped by weather, use, and life along the Norwegian coast.

The boathouse belongs to the North Norwegian coastal tradition, where boathouses and shoreline buildings were essential parts of daily life by the sea. Boats were stored here, equipment repaired, and everyday life followed the rhythm of weather, tides, and coastal work.
