Handelsstedet Forvik is beautifully located by the Forvik ferry quay in Vevelstad and is a vibrant cultural heritage site with roots dating back more than 200 years. Accommodation is offered in Grålåna, an authentic Nordland house built around 1750. The house is closely connected to the history of the trading post and has been carefully preserved through generations. Grålåna features five unique guest rooms, all with made-up beds, and shared access to a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and toilet – perfect for those who wish to stay in surroundings full of soul and character.
There is also a small and cozy campsite with simple facilities for guests arriving by motorhome, caravan, or tent.
On the property you will also find Kaffebrenneriet Forvik – an open and lively meeting place where guests can watch coffee being roasted right in front of them. This space functions as a café, reception, and production facility, while also offering their own locally produced coffee, tea, chocolate, licorice, and brewing equipment for sale.
The summer restaurant Naustloftet is open daily from approximately June 20 to August 10, serving flavorful dishes based on local ingredients. The coffee roastery is open daily throughout June, July, and August, and forms the heart of the experience at Forvik – where history, hospitality, and great flavors come together.
You can also order a two-course dinner and breakfast whether you stay in a Grålåna room or in a tent or motorhome.
