Tips on what to do in Norway during the summer of 2025
Norway offers plenty of attractions and adventures in the summer time. If you head north to Lofoten or Tromsø, the summer night never ends, as the midnight sun shines here. If you fancy hiking, there are several guided tours to join. You can even hike on a glacier in Folgefonna National Park.
For those of you who are a little less adventurous, you can join a guided walking tour in Oslo. Oslo also offers cozy boat trips, museums and shopping. Oslo
Summer in Oslo offers a perfect combination of nature, culture and gastronomy. Don't miss a boat trip on the Oslofjord, perhaps accompanied by a bite to eat or a stop on the island of Malmøya. Head to Aker Brygge for shopping and good food. Join a city walk around Oslo where you will see several famous sights. Oslo is also famous for its Vigeland Park, the world's largest sculpture park with works by Gustav Vigeland.
Alta
Alta is located far up in Northern Norway. You can drive here via Sweden and Finland along the E45. There are also flights via Oslo up to Alta. People come here for adventure and fantastic nature experiences. You can also experience the Sami culture. Alta has many summer activities for those who want to experience something different in Norway. You can go on a Rib boat, go fishing, go hiking and just enjoy this beautiful place. The midnight sun shines in Alta for almost the entire month of July. If you want to go on a whale safari or see the Northern Lights, well, you have to wait until autumn and winter.
Stavanger
Stavanger is located in southwestern Norway in Rogaland County. Stavanger is Norway's third largest city after Bergen and Oslo. Here you can experience both the pulse of the big city but also the quiet beautiful nature with fjords and high mountains. Stavanger is known as the Norwegian oil capital when oil was found in the North Sea in the early 1970s. Lofoten
Lofoten, with its dramatic mountains and turquoise fjords, is a destination that seems to have been taken from a storybook. A visit to Lofoten during the summer will give you unforgettable memories. The charming fishing village of Reine is one of the most photographed places in Norway. No matter how beautiful it is. Haukland Beach one of the most impressive beaches you can visit. Here you will find white sand and clear water, surrounded by dramatic cliffs.

If you want to see Norway's southernmost point on the mainland, you should go to Lindesnes and Lindesnes Lighthouse. This is Norway's oldest lighthouse since 1655. The capital of Sörlandet is Kristiansand, which is a very popular summer town. Visit the old town district of Posebyen, sunbathe and swim at the shallow sandy beach of Bystranda or go on fun sea adventures. If you are in Sörlandet, you must not miss perhaps Norway's most beautiful summer town - Risör. Risör is full of white-painted wooden houses and narrow streets and a beautiful archipelago.
